At OPK we believe in the importance of nature and outdoor play. Both our 3 and 4-year-old groups will be provided with rich, hands-on learning experiences that foster curiosity, resilience and a deep connection to the natural environment.
During Term 3 and 4 our groups will be given time and space to engage in unstructured play periods connect to Country whilst immersed in the coastal beach environment. We will have the opportunity for sand-based play, loose-parts and natural materials play. We will enjoy water and sensory play and physical and risky play. We will explore imaginative and dramatic play using our environment as a backdrop for storytelling. We will use nature as a platform for inquiry. There will be no toys, tools or commercial products – nature play will offer freedom and endless possibilities.
