The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development provides per capita funding as a contribution towards the cost of operating the 4-year-old preschool. There is no funding for other programs such as 3-year-old kindergarten. Fees are necessary, as there is a shortfall between this funding and the cost of operating a viable preschool. Parents/Guardians need to be aware that preschools rely on the prompt payment of fees to meet costs.
The committee will set the fees for the program each year, taking into consideration the operational costs of the program and fees charged by similar services in the area. Details of the current fees are set out below.
In addition to these fees, all Kinder families are required to pay four other payments:
Enrolment Fee - There is a $50 non refundable fee payable on acceptance of a place at Olive Phillips Kindergarten.
Maintenance Levy - There is an additional $50 'working bee' levy payable in term 1, which is reimbursed after completion of a working bee during the year or forfeited if not completed. There are 4 working bee sessions per year which could involve light gardening, cleaning, painting etc, all things that help maintain our kinder at such high standards for the children to enjoy.
Fundraiser Levy - The fundraiser levy is currently $100.00 per annum which contributes towards maintaining and improving our Kindergarten and play equipement and means no fund raising is necessary at our social events.
Excursion / Incursion Levy - The excursion / incursion levy is $40 per annum.
T-shirts, windcheaters & hats are printed with the kindergarten logo and available for purchase from the kindergarten.
